We start with a real conversation about taste, routines, and goals, then hand-pick a chef who fits. After the first visit, you share feedback, we fine-tune, and—if needed—rematch fast. You always stay in control.
That’ll work for us! Our chefs cook beautifully in small or modest spaces. We tailor menus to your tools, bring a few trusted essentials when helpful, and suggest only smart, low-cost upgrades if you ask.
You can. Think of the menu as a living document that reflects your week, not a fixed contract. You can request new dishes, dial spices up or down, or flag items to repeat.
We log favorites, track nutrition notes, and learn your household’s quirks—kid approvals included. Over time, your chef anticipates your choices, and “tweaks” become second nature. The result feels personal because it is.
We offer transparent pricing: an hourly rate ($50) for chef time plus the cost of groceries. No subscriptions or delivery fees. During the consult, we estimate meal counts and time so you know costs before the apron goes on.
Yes. We design menus that follow your plan exactly and still taste amazing.

Don’t see your plan listed? Tell us. We’ll adapt techniques and ingredients so your goals stay intact and the food stays joyful.
We package to fit your real life: single-serve containers for lunches, family-style pans for shared nights, or a mix.
We label clearly with dish names, notes, and simple reheating cues. We separate allergens, keep sauces optional when smart, and portion snacks for grab-and-go. Prefer reusable containers? We can use yours. The fridge ends up organized, not crowded, and dinner becomes open-and-enjoy easy.
There’s no long contract or sign-up fees with MyChef NE. We agree on scope and cadence, then keep it flexible, adjusting to fit your routine and lifestyle. We do have several service fees that may be applicable (travel fees for outside our normal service area, macros tracking, etc..).
Every situation is slightly different. However, in our experience, for the average family of 4, receiving most of their weeknight food can expect to pay a cost of around $350 – $400 total.
Are there just 2 of you? That total cost comes down. Things to consider: Different ingredients cost different prices. Chicken and ground beef will be cheaper than shrimp and halibut. Keep that in mind when making requests. Also, the benefit of an hourly service is that if one week someone is out of town or you have dinner arrangements already and don’t need as many meals, then your total will be less.
We don’t prescribe diets, and we never replace medical advice. If your doctor or dietitian sets guidelines—macros, sodium targets, allergens—we translate those into practical menus and repeatable techniques.
We can suggest approachable recipe frameworks, grocery strategies, and healthy swaps that make the plan sustainable. You keep ownership of the goal; we make the day-to-day cooking doable and delicious.
We size the class to your kitchen and goals. 2 people for knife skills feels perfect; 6 to 8 for pasta night keeps it interactive. Larger groups work in event spaces—same instruction, more elbow room.
We teach within your plan, focusing on techniques, substitutions, and shopping habits you can repeat. You leave with confidence, not just recipes, and a clearer path to making it stick
Think “live cooking show,” only in your home or venue. Beforehand, you and your chef choose dishes and the techniques to spotlight. On the day, the chef narrates each step, fields questions, and offers tastes as components come together.
We handle ingredient sourcing, pacing, and flow; you enjoy the theater. When the demo ends, the kitchen looks like a kitchen again—cleaned, reset, ready for applause.
We can cook for any occasion in Omaha where conversation matters and fresh food elevates it.
We cook for:
- Private dinners
- Holiday parties
- Action stations
- Graduation parties
- Backyard Weddings & BBQs
- Birthday parties
- Retirement parties
- Small office parties
- And more!
If the space has a workable kitchen, we bring the restaurant experience to you.
Yes, and we approach it with respect. We start by listening—family recipes, spices, fasting rules, holiday timing—then plan a menu that honors your tradition.
We source thoughtfully, avoid shortcuts that change meaning, and test unfamiliar techniques if needed. We also manage cross-contact carefully for religious or allergen concerns. The goal: a table that feels true to you and welcoming to every guest
We absolutely do offer gift cards! There’s nothing like the gift of saving a busy family, a friend on the go, or senior parents’ time in the kitchen while still making sure they eat properly. Plus, the gift card could be used for more MyChef Nebraska services, including cooking demonstrations, special event food preparation, and more.
Basically, our gift cards provide home-cooked, chef-curated meals and party foods—great for new parents, housewarming gifts, presents for the hard-to-buy-for, and anyone on your list who loves eating gourmet food.
